13U Team Ohio (Metzger)

Team Ohio 2012 Metzger has gone undefeated over the last two weekends. Last weekend Team Ohio defeated the South Hills Panthers in Pittsburgh by the scores of 5-2 and 5-1. This past weekend Team Ohio played their first home games on Saturday versus the Miami Redhawks U14 team. Team Ohio tied both games by the scores of 1-1 and 2-2. On Sunday, the South Hills Panthers came to Winterhurst to complete the 4-game home and home series against Team Ohio. Once again, Team Ohio won both games by the scores of 3-1 and 4-0 to complete the season sweep of South Hills. Team Ohio will practice over the next two weeks to prepare for their next tournament, the 200x85 CCM Motown Tournament in Detroit from October 17th- October 19th. Team Ohio’s record now stands at 12-1

CCM 200x85 (Denver) Tournament Champions

Team Ohio 2012 had another incredible weekend, this time in Denver, Colorado, winning the CCM 200x85 Tournament.

Team Ohio went 4-1 this weekend to improve their overall record to 13-2-1. Their only loss came in pool play against the Omaha Jr. Mavericks, the same team they would face off against in the tournament final. Team Ohio beat the St. Louis Sting, 2-1, in the semi-finals setting up the rematch and the team took full advantage of their second chance topping the Jr. Mavericks, 3-1, to capture the championship.

Bentley Forsyth was remarkable in the net in the final two games, so good that he was named CCM 200x85 Denver Tournament MVP. Metzger's 2012s are rolling having won each of the first two tournaments entered and doing so with a balanced offense and stifling defense. Sonny DiFiore leads the team with 28 total points, Paddy Christyson has a team leading 18 goals and Alex Morris leads with 17 assists.

Next up, a quick trip to Pittsburgh on Sunday, September 28th where they will face off against the South Hills Panthers for a pair of games.

TEAM OHIO WINS HOCKEYPALOOZA EAST!

Team Ohio 2012 defeated a tough St. Clair Shores team, 1-0, to win Grinder Hockey's HockeyPalooza Tournament.  

The lone goal, and game winner, was netted by Micah Robinson with assists being awarded to Anthony Florio and Sonny DiFiore.  Robinson's goal was all that was needed as Emmet Showers was exceptional between the pipes for Team Ohio stopping all 21 shots faced.

The team went 5-0-1 on the weekend scoring an impressive 31 goals over that span.  In addition to Showers, the team also got stellar net play from Bentley Forsythe- the goaltending tandem boasted a .83 goals against average over the weekend. 

The 2012s will enjoy a rare off weekend before heading to Denver, Colorado to compete in the CCM 200x85 Showcase Series.
